Macugnaga, situated at the foot of the spectacular east face of Monte Rosa, is a small Alpine village of Walser origin in the Anzasca Valley in north-west Piedmont.
The culture, traditions and customs of this people are still clearly visible today in the architecture of the typical huts, in the old bakery ovens, in the traditional costumes worn at festivals or in the Titsch language spoken by the village elders.
Every corner of Macugnaga retains its original characteristics, making it a unique place: one example is the Dorf, the small village dating back to the 13th century.
